I hear your frustration my friend. While I think it is important to recognize that buying a handgun should not be as easy as buying a candy bar, the focus on gun control takes away from the real issues behind the V-Tech shootings. If the people who are all screaming about guns were really concerned about public good they would be trying to figure out what in our society could make someone want to kill 32 people. Instead they have decided to focus on the method of the killer. So even if they manage to make handguns illegal the conditions that caused this person to want to kill have not changed and the American citizens are no safer for it.
Happy people can use guns too. They take hunting trips and trips to the shooting range and all manner of social outtings.
Poor guy... I understand he was an international student? If so, he was culturally displaced and perhaps an introverted fellow to begin with. I wish I knew a solution to his malady... but figuring that out begins by caring about his welfare, not whether he owns a firearm or not.
Did you read the article about the mayor of Nagasaki? Japan has some of the most stringent gun control laws in the world, yet the MAYOR of a MAJOR city in Japan was shot and killed in broad daylight
