Prepositional Phrases

Feb 25, 2005 09:10

While asking someone "What's up" an epiphany floated over me. Prepositional phrases are utterly random. I could have just said "an epiphany floated around me" or even "through me." It's all too arbitrary. i think that "What's up?" makes just as much sense as "What's down?" Any takers on this?

What's up?

Have you thought of ALL the things that can be up that you don't want to be down? ...*blinks innocently*....(whatever dirty thoughts that pop into your mind is all the fault of your dirty mind...lol)

Also...pps are up and happy, but down and depressed
and after a high, people often come crashing down...so i guess up=good, down=bad

I love the way both you and Laura assume, I will have dirty thoughts
upon hearing the words "up" and "down". *angel face*

I don't know, but I try to avoid the use of the words "up" and "down" in everyday conversation.

For the obvious reasons.

Whatever you are now thinking about is the reason why I don't use them.
