bella novik bruised easily and violently. not a day would pass when she would leave her apartment unadorned with blue-black imprints interrupting her pale skin like medals. she never bothered to hide them with powder, concealer, or long-sleeved shirts. she wore them like sunglasses, dark and obvious against her body and yet hiding a telltale ( Read more... )

that's dylan. he lives one floor above bella now. i've been working on this nebulous idea that revolves around tenants of a particular apartment building. each resident is plucked from one of my short pieces. it's been fun to write thus far.

Oh wow that's a really interesting idea.
I was wondering about the "APT #" titles to each of these pieces.
I guess I must be kind of slow...
Damn now I need to go back and re-read the old entries. (:
Hrm, any chance that I might have the honour of having someone that I know be written through your eyes(hand?) in one of these apartment pieces?

P.S. Sorry for cutting into the thread like that! Couldn't resist!

thanks, it took a while to pile together the intersection but hopefully the concept gains momentum. it's actually a big shift for me because other than short paragraph or page-length bits, i've only ever taken a fantasy approach towards anything novel-esque in aspirations. i guess i just want to write what i like to read.

the apartment chapters deal with 7 households, from bottom floor to top, and i have them all fleshed out. but i could write something else entirely if you want to give me a characterization and a scenario/plot.

Good god, that was beautiful. Not a single line was superfluous, it all just added another layer of depth to the emotional tapestry you so elegantly weaved.
