Unlike some people - *FRED* - who are posting just to be an asshole, I'm posting to comfort you in saying that, none of it was your fault with Little I. The judges sounded like pricks since they didn't realize that this wasn't your horse that you've cared for and owned for years and years. You've had the thing for two weeks and that's NOWHERE near enough time to prepare it for everything that it had to deal with on Saturday. I spent years with my horses and I still had issues with them. (Though when I dealt with my horse's mane, she usually just stood there...one time she actually fell asleep and almost toppled over! She caught herself at the last second...it was hysterical.)
Anyway, the point of Little I isn't to be competitive (well, not to a major degree) it's to go out and enjoy spending time with animals. But don't worry, next year we'll kick ass with the dairy calves! ;-D
Excuse me? I wasn't posting to be an asshole I was congratulating her on a job well done. It may not have been as good as she had wanted but it still a respectable placing.
I took the comment as being completely negative for two reasons:
1. Since when have I ever seen a positive comment come from you directed towards my friend? Why the sudden change of heart?
2. If you read her article, she mentioned that there were only 4 people in total for her class. Therefor, 3rd and 4th out of 4. I'm sure Caitlin put in all the effort she could. Her horse was a spazz, and it doesn't matter anyway. It was a friendly intra-college competition (or at least it wasn't suppose to be knock-ya-in-the-dirt competitive).
The place overall is not of importance. But just to let you know I skimmed and didn't really read all that closely, but as I said the placing out of however many people is not important. She went out and did something, and the act of doing that thing is what I was congratulating her on. No assholeness intended
A propos of nothing, the horse that hangs out 50 feet left of my motel window totally freaked out last night at 2 AM while I was watching this creepy low budget movie on scifi about a family and house terrorized by ghosts and a demon. It was yelling and bashing into the metal fence around its yard. It seems fine now. That is all.

There are my reasons. Are you surprised?
