letters home from summer camp (send cookies plz!)

Li,

I first would like to apologize for my leaving with little more notice than the note I left on my pillow. I am certain you understand the reasons behind the lack of detail. Things have reached a critical point and I must remain away until our security has been guaranteed.

Attached is a letter to our daughter. I trust you'll see that she receives it.

I miss you and I promise to return home as soon as the tasks at hand have been completed.

Take care, my love.

My Daffodil,

First off, the news has reached me that you have been made a Slytherin Prefect. Congratulations. I have always known you'd do great things.

I imagine your mother has taken recent events rather harshly and I have no doubt that she has made... changes. I ask that in your last weeks at home before you leave for school that you'll keep an eye on her for me. I understand that you two rarely agree on anything, but your mother has never been strong at relying on herself; I'm thankful you've taken after me in almost every way.

I love you very much. Make me proud; I know you will. It's in your blood.

-your Father

P.S. Play nice with the ickle firsties. I can recall a letter written your first year asking to come home after being locked in a bathroom by a few sixth years.
