Just for clarification...if we are a present member and have already filled out the poll to remain in the community, is it also necessary to go to newslytherins?

As an existing member you don't have to fill in the questionaire on newslytherins, but you really should be judging the new applicants.

I have a question - how does one, having been approved, then go about gaining access to the community since it's closed membership?

Every week (on a Wednesday morning) I'll go check applicants from the previous week, those that have the required approval rate I'll admit to the community.
