YES! I've always wanted to learn it, always! I'm an old woman now but I don't care...as long as I can get a few songs out of it LOL! If I have some quick questions as I go could I ask you please please please? I know you play the viola but isn't that just a bigger violin?:D
Aww, you're never too old to learn violin. I have a few adult beginner students - I think the oldest is probably in her mid to late 50's. :)
Absolutely you can ask me anything. I teach both violin and viola, so it's not a problem. What books are you using? Do you have a teacher?
The viola is bigger and very much like the violin, and the short of it is yes, it's basically a big violin tuned differently. However, ask any violist and they will be happy to elaborate on its many differences. I spend an entire semester teaching a course on the viola and how it is different than the violin. ;)
I don't have a teacher yet, unfortunately! With my situation right now, I can't drive where I want when I want..we have one car and hubby is military..his schedule always changes :b. I hope to get lessons next year however! Right now I gather everything I can online. There are some good websites to teach me the basics; where the notes are, how to hold the bow etc...I'm not doing so bad so far..I can crank out a few SIMPLE tunes LOL. It's such a beautiful instrument to play! I got a Gliga Genial, I'm sure you heard of them!
