They weren't. I was just being dramatic in using name Homeland Bureaucracy as a name for SSA.

No, I went to the Alexandria office, which is on the site of the former Computer Learning Center, for whom I used to work.

They have quite a few offices around here, all so you don't have to drive very far to get shafted.

I think we had the same thought. :-) Then it occured to me that even if I did have the original court order, it's an order to change my name to Slappy Lipschitz. All my current records (Driver's license, passport, credit cards, etc) are under the name Slappy Dolittle. If I had the original order enforced, I would have to change the name on everything else.

Maybe I'll take this opportunity to name myself a symbol.
