rhythym of the saints is such a fucking good album. the first concert i ever went to was paul simon and bob dylan at shoreline. tamar berger and her dad and i sat on our jackets and i was just old enough to uncertainly identify the scent of marijuana in the air. paul simon was tiny on the stage in a big yellow sweatshirt. i slept through bob dylan, having no idea who bob dylan was, and woke up during mr. tambourine man and thought, ah, that's who this guy is. then i tried to make a joke about how the song should have more tambourine in it and tamar laughed but her dad glared at me.
oops i memoried in your livejournal.
what i intended to write was, i love this song and i still have no idea what the lyrics mean. i always thought he was singing "why deny the obvious, child?" also what the hell is a ballpark cross? please explain. or give your interpretation.
Get outta town, MY first concert was Paul Simon at Shoreline! I was six, and disturbed that he changed those "Lai Lai Lais" at the end of The Boxer to "Leh leh lehs."
Obvious Child is my favorite, right before Boy in the Bubble, 50 Ways, The Boxer, and Still Crazy...etc..
