Who Owns the Humster ?

Three girls who have shared the use of a hamster for some time disagree as to who owns the animal. It is not certain , however , that the responsibility of ownership is desired .They  have asked Mr. Stacy  to settle the issue. The three make the following statements . Each makes one true and one false statement.

I think that it is B's hamster, because C's first statement is false, B's second statement is false, and A's first statement is false. Out of all the other statements, I've determined that the hamster can only belong to B.
