Question: I'm doing art and beta for SGA Big Bang, have a promised fic to finish and already have a project worked out for mini_nanowrimo, is the January 8th 10,000 word check- in a deal breaker? I'm not sure I can make that, but I'm confident I can finish the entire 20,000 by the deadline (just finished one at almost 22,000). I'd love to write a Hewligan fic - Brendan/Emmett, but like I say... not sure I can do my research and have 10K by the 8th of January.

Thanks!

Nope, not a deal breaker. :) Much like the SGA Big Bang, it's like a 'this is about where you should be' kind of thing but if you're not, that's fine. :)

Have to admit that the thing that puts me off is the huge time gap. SGA BB is twice the length and the timescale is 6 months from sign up to site live. 10 months for fics half the size of SGABB seems excessive...but that's just my POV.

The reason it's so long is because there are other BBs running for the next few months (as well as other challenges) and several people have contacted me in regards to that (that they wanted to sign up but couldn't if the majority of it was going to be during challenges they were already a part of happening over the course of the next few months) - I COULD have waited three months before opening the sign-ups, but just extending it seemed like the better idea. *shrugs*

That sounds reasonable! I guess I could always sign up now and start working on the story in January :D

*grins* You definitely could! ;) Or HEY, if you want to get real adventurous, you could sign up for TWO stories. ::whistles:: ;)
