Man, well everything's pretty good all in all, although I totally got flaked out on this weekend. Argh, that kind of pissed me off. Be forewarned . . . or face my wrath XD. The little icon after that should inform you of my sarcasticness, btw ( Read more... )

I was watching a movie called "Venus" a few weeks ago, and in it one of the characters said, "A woman's body is the most beautiful thing a man will ever see." When asked what the most beautiful thing a woman will ever see is, he said, "Her first born child."

I just thought it was relative.

That is an interesting thought. Men and women are obviously very different. I think women see more of a strength and comfort in men than beauty.

haha, i did a paper about a similar theme in usem. there's a fine line between freedom of speech and pornography. I'd say that if it's an artistic photo or a painting, (and especially if it's a painting) and if it's just one person in it, it's just art and isn't drgrading to women. those are some of my thoughts on it.
That's an interesting thing to notice: the lack of men in nude pictures. personally, i think men are gross-looking most of the time, wheras women look normal. but maybe that's because i AM a woman.

yeah, spring starts on the 20th or 21st. hooray for spring!

I agree. If the "point" or message of the picture was to depict female beauty than it's not degrading. There were definitely many photographs that were more pornographic than anything else. There was actually a book of "erotic" photos that I stole a glance at. Eh, I was curious.

XD

Definitely! *happy spring dance*

Back in the Classical period it was all about the male nude, but since the Helenistic Period things have really sucked.

I was thinking about that too, like the Statue of David. The Greeks thought all nude form was beautiful. I guess somewhere along the line things shifted because of culture.
