So, we just got back from a week in HOT Las Vegas. The best story (I lived) to tell is how I was pulled up on stage with Penn and Teller. We also spent time in the Harry Potter IMAX Experience, the Dueling Pianos bar at Paris, and a Second City show at the Flamingo. Not to mention Karaoke, and general merriment.

Seriously though, it's probably not that far out of your price range. We stayed at the Imperial Palace for $57 a night during the week. (After the tax and phone fee, it was actually $63.13 per night from Monday - Thursday night.) If you can get a cheap flight (We flew direct out of BWI on Southwest for under $1K for the two of us round trip - I'm sure you could do better in October though). Then for cheap things to do - the dueling pianos was so great we went twice, and they have no cover, just a 2 drink minimum. The Second City show, if you look through the free booklets in your hotel room, you can find a buy one get one coupon for tix, so a couple could go for $60. Definitely worth looking into. (END PLUG FOR VEGAS) :-p

A few we visited:
*The buffet at Planet Hollywood (formerly the Aladdin)
*Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill (If you can stomach the shrine to Toby, it's good food at normal prices and every dessert is $3.99, including the deep-fried Twinkie)
*The Italian Restaurant inside NY NY (I forget the name at the moment, but it was reasonably priced, and the food was WAY better, IMHO, than Olives (Todd English's restaurant at the Bellagio))
*The little food court tucked away in the Grand Canal Shoppes at the Venetian - Panda Express and Nathan's are the highlights
