Hi to all from your new mod!
Hi! I'm Don (online anyway :D) and I've taken over the modding for this year at least. Looking at my diary I figured since sign ups start next week I should post, say hello, let anyone who was curious about what was going to happen this year know what was going on. I'm an Australian primary school teacher and I'm so excited to be taking over. This is my first time modding a big bang. I haven't had a chance to change any of the emails yet so if you need to contact me and lj isn't playing nice don't hesitate to email me at isdon_isgood9@hotmail.com , if I don't respond right away please remember I am in Australia so time zones may come into play with my replying abilities.
In saying this I would like some opinions from people about the running this year. I'm wondering if there is anything that you've seen done elsewhere that you think might work here too, especially in drawing some more people back in to participating. I think that the minimum word count is in a good place and the time frame is too but there seems to be a steady decline in participation. So if you have any ideas please, drop a comment, let me know and I'll see what I can do.
The other question I have for all members is would anyone feel they would benefit from a support comm. I'm not sure if this big bang has one already but if not I'm more than happy to create one to be used by all. We'd be able to have writing events and the ability to share and complain to each other if necessary. I've seen it done elsewhere and it has helped.
