GOP 'cranks' dominating debate

Read here how Republicans can pretend to be angry at gullible idiots for "hurting their image" by... buying their own party line and derailing the healthcare debate. Also, how they can imply that every party has their diehard foaming nutjobs - except where are all the "I demand single-payer socialized medicine" ( Read more... )

Well, not necessarily, but, in an article about how the cranks are dominating the public image of the GOP, you might point out that it's because the GOP is currently full of cranks. This isn't "ZOMG Bush is likely to lie and try to curtail our freedoms" mad, we call that "righteous indignation". This is "Bush engineered 9/11 while eating babies" mad - the paranoid crazy kind. And there wasn't ever a point where that lunacy was the public face of the Democratic party... right now, it's how crazy the Republican party is starting to look.

OK, totally off-topic, but are you on Facebook? Today randomly turned into a nostalgia fest, and there are dozens of new camp pictures of you and a bunch of other folks that have been posted since midnight. And no one can find you to tag you.

I'm actively not... I try to avoid associating my real name to my online life, because I've seen it bite too many people, and the policies/procedure for actual deletion at FB make me uncomfortable, to say the least, about even trying it.

I like something to which I can invite people, but I try to avoid things where I can be easily/intentionally found, if you know what I mean. I still feel a little weird about putting photos of myself on Flickr, because it ties here, and vice versa.

ETA: On the topic of being found, have you heard from Em lately? Her email a while back came in while I was wiping and re-installing my laptop, so I wasn't able to reply for rather a stretch, and then I didn't hear back from her when I did.

I'm actually rather in touch with her. (Plus, she's been commenting all over the aforementioned pictures!) Email me and I'll write back with her email address, if you're looking for it.

You really should see these pictures...

I actually have her gmail, if that's her main account - she uses the same email address convention there that I do, apparently. Just never heard back from her after I replied to her initial email. I figured I'd ask if anything had come up/gone pear-shaped while the thought was in my head. I can always send her another email asking if she got the first one, but that always feels a little weird. Admittedly, it's been a couple months now, so at least it's not the annoying "HAY! HAY! DID U GET THAT THING I JUST SENT U?"

Hrm... the only way I'll be able to witness all the fun is with a facebook account, right? You've been going to and fro in the net, and surfing up and down in it, right? ;)

Well, it was linked by someone on my friendslist - I just couldn't remember who, nor find the post.

So, I'm a pioneer in the late-1800s sense of going where only a few other people had already been. ;)
