Oh, yeah...

So, as mentioned in the last crafty post, I went to all the trouble of embossing designs only to decide I didn't like any enough to make them part of ragnvaeig's birthday gift necklace. In the end, the piece of jasper I was planning to hang from the embossed piece didn't have a big enough hole for the 20ga copper wire I was planning to use anyway, so I just ( Read more... )

That necklace is LOVELY.

Hazelnut carrot cake sounds delightful.

And damn, weetiny valknut. WOW. Like that a lot.

Thankee!

It totally was delightful. There's no point feigning modesty. That was one fricking delicious cake, as evidenced by the fact we polished it off in three days. The hazelnuts went remarkably well with the other flavors.

And, thanks again. I think that's about as tiny as I can get without reducing it to single lines - which I did as well, and it neither looked that great nor photographed well. I think I can be satisfied with this, as it's close in scale to the trefoil knot piece from before.

I'm going to have to try hazelnuts the next time I make carrot cake, I think. I can see that working VERY nicely indeed.

Yeah, I doubt you can keep the accuracy/cleanliness of the lines if you go much further down in scale...

Oh, it did, it so did. I felt the need to crumble the chopped hazelnuts a bit further, because they seemed a bit chunky for the purpose, but they went with the rest of the flavors so nicely. And now I've got a mortar full of spare ground hazelnuts.

As I mentioned elsewhere, you start to hit a point where the width of your lines is greater than the visible margin of error. Drawing the triangles as pencil-thick lines means any tiny little jostle of the stylus ruins it.

Thankee.

It's geometriffic! Even when my art isn't discrete/pixelated, it's still mathematical.

The necklace is gorgeous. And the wee Valknut pretty spiffy too.

Thanks muchly! I basically stole the design on the necklace, but I am unashamed to take credit for the final product. ;)

Thanks - though we're not official and legal yet. It's not even official that we'll be making it official. We're officially not official. ;)

WTF? We're in a committed relationship, but we're not married.

I hate the word "wife" anyway.
