Overheard ragnvaeig playing this the other day, and found it cool enough to seek out and download the mp3. Since I believe it to be most awesome, and I think this is an audience that might appreciate it, I am sharing it with all of you. If you're sick of auto-tuned music, you might not want to bother... but you might anyway.

I quite enjoy the sound of it. They have another song on their site with Sagan, Feynman, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and Bill Frickin' Nye - who, for all the world, actually looks like he's doing a rap video.

Mostly, I just like the concept of the piece, and the project. I'm increasingly tired of science being conceived of as antithetical to wonder and mystery, being inherently rote or banal or disconnected. So I probably find the songs more moving than they might rate on their own merit.

It does rather create an increased degree of Kermit-tude in his speech, which is a little off-putting.

The Kermit-ness does start to grate, but it is a cool project.

And Nye did manage to totally rock it. ;^)

I like the idea. We donated to the project... because, seriously, of all the things people have autotuned, this is the coolest I've seen.

Nye was hilarious. There's an MC who throws down.

your subject line reminds me of this Martha Stewart parody magazine I saw once. One article: "making water from scratch." LAWL.

I egged her house once. True Story.

I'm starting to appreciate those things more now that I'm increasingly domestic. It's kinda scary.

Was it part of a conspiracy, or a crime of opportunity? ;)

The other one, at symphonyofscience.com, is also pretty neat. As mentioned elsewhere in the post, the Bill Nye video segment does look like he's in a geeky version of a DMX video or something.
