Layout woes

Nov 25, 2009 01:05

The horror of spending so much time learning about good design and coming up with ideas... is discovering the degree to which your tools seem inadequate for the implementation thereof. *sigh* I knew there was a reason I kept Publisher installed for so long.

Somebody stop me before I lay out a resume in Photoshop.

Hands off the keyboard, step away from the resume.

DO IT.

Well, I wouldn't, but no one in my field gives a rat's ass about layout. *I'm* the picky one here, and that's only because I won't send out figures that aren't legible. The bar is not high.

It has been commented on in the past that my handwriting is surprisingly good for a programmer, even while at the same time being surprisingly terrible for an adult human being. I understand.

My resume may be in LaTeX. /shiftyeyes...

At the same time, it looks f*ing amazing. Vspace-10in - can do! I understand your pain. I also hate Word. It just doesn't behave like it should.
