LOVE it. REally, really love it. It looks especially gorgeous on that chain - how did you do that? What weave?

Thanks! It's "viking wire weaving", which I got into quite a while back. Specifically, it's a six "handle"/"spine" chain in 26 gauge copper wire, "single-stitched" around a 5/16" dowel and drawn down to just about 3/16" diameter.

That is really neat. I can do quite a lot of chain weaves (maille-type things and Byzantine, etc.), but I've never tried that!

It's interesting, but a bit slow. Not quite as slow as trying to make some ring chain weaves, I think, but the simplest stuff, IIRC, I could only do about ~10cm/hr of chain. Worse, I tend to prefer the look of the double-stitched weave, which takes twice as long and twice as much wire.

To a degree, I still feel like the kid giving his mother an ash tray he made at camp or something. Hopefully she likes it, or at least gives me some direction on stuff she would like. ;)
