So, just for the record, that site Sarah Palin endorsed which put crosshairs on Democratic districts? It had Rep. Gabrielle Giffords as a bullseye.And while the woman exhorts her followers "don't retreat, reload" and refers to "salvos" in elections, she wishes all the best to the victims of the tragedy. Oh, and suddenly the site is down

What gets me is the backpedaling. Sarah and co. said to make these people targets, one person may have taken that too literally. You own up to it, you don't pretend "Oh, this imagery wasn't GUN imagery, we totally didn't mean to imply anything combative by tailing our people to 'take aim' at the democrats and 'reload' to fire another 'salvo'!"

It's a free country, and people have the right to speak their minds - but depublishing what you've already said and trying to backpedal on your words when you've done so much harm with them is disgusting. If it's what you intended, own it, if it's not, apologize for your role.
