Yes, it went out autonomously once it had burned everything in the room. I put the trash can in the room and made them clean up the debris, although Alan did so autonomously because he has a lot of neat points.

Convenient fires only burn down the furniture, they get blocked from spreading to the rest of the house by flame-resistant walls! Lol.
I've never seen a whole-room fire in sims before, probably because I'm slightly paranoid about them after I burnt the first sim...
