I suppose it is flattering some-one ripped off your work, but I did blow my top when it happened to me. It was not on an fanfic site, but a character and history I created for a Fourth Age role play. The guy even nicked my banner , which was how I found it, and then read the posts and thought: " This sounds incredibly familiar - I wonder why? " Actually any-one could have made the banner, fair play, but all the content? Cheek!

Yeah, it was a story that had my work and a bunch of other people's work in a hilarious anthology. Then this girl took each entry, separated it into chapters, changed the names slightly, and put everything in chatspeak. That's it. But every single person who had their work ripped off flamed her, and she deleted it! Yay! *confetti falls from sky*
Congratulations for the deletion of the plagiarized story. It must have been annoying as hell. I think the thing that girl did was pretty lame - she could have asked your permission to use your plot, and write something of her own based on it, or she could have given credit to you, and do more than just change a few names and use chatspeak, but nooo...
Pretty irritating.
I'm sad to say this is just a drive-by post; I'm off to bed, now.
Yes, I know. I almost feel as if I shouldn't have made such a big deal (it was this tiny but hilarious script I wrote), but she stole *other* works, too, and that was just wrong.
The girl I *intended* to write it for kept it as-is, credited everyone and gave out awards, and everyone *gave her permission*. The other girl... I'm just glad it's deleted. ~149 flames is nothing to sneeze at...
