The gorgeousness of this. So beautiful! And incredibly skillful too, the way you have given us the backstory while weaving it into that time Noah is looking for the ring (and the proposal at the end, but I particularly enjoyed the way it kept coming back to Noah in the ring shop.)

This story really is all about Puck. And I think there's a problem in that during characterization sometimes, authors want to refer to him as a deadbeat or a loser, when he's really none of those things. He's made some suspect choices, for sure, but in a lot of ways, he's a really solid guy. So I wanted to make sure I made a careful distinction between other people - people who don't know him - thinking he's a deadbeat, and Rachel, who's thankfully convinced him it's not true.

Thank you. :)

I loved that you've done that. It's always interesting seeing the same person from different perspectives - I'm actually writing a series along those lines at the moment with another OTP. Though to be honest, the whole idea that Puck's decency and growth isn't obvious is just the Glee writers being idiots, because the show has given us so much development, but then proceeds to ignore it. Puck has made mistakes and learnt from them, which is the definition of growth and maturity!

I think the trouble is largely that they had him growing as a character, and then they had him regress. All of a sudden it was like he hadn't learned anything from his past mistakes. And honestly, that was pretty hard to deal with. He wasn't the only character to suffer, although his development was better than probably anyone's.
