well i basically have the same outlook as you. except i believe people use religion as both a crutch and a barrier, which is probably the thing i hate about it most. it must be amazing to have faith in something like these people do. it seems to calm people so much. but i just cant. of course there are things i believe. reincarnation. fate, to a certain point. but to let a single book which contradicts itself dictate my actions? not going to happen. ah i love discussing religion.
You say the church is all about forgiveness, then howcome it is your religion that believes in a hell? christianity i see as more of a colt, the guidelines are unbelievable. Ivan, if you truly did follow christianity and believe everything since you have stated in order to be a practicer of your religion you should, then you would believe you are condemned to hell.Forgiveness? what is that?accept christ as your savior,and then are forgiven? oh my. that seems too easy.your aunt died & it drove you closer to god? see,to me that shows that you needed something else to get you through a rough time, because you couldnt do it on your own, and thats understandable, but still doesnt prove your point. I lost my father and then my grandfather, the two most and only important men in my life, im still copeing with it, and I believe its been a changing experience, but I dont really feel closer to god, maybe you should explain how..Who are you to say Judaism has lost a lot of its following? that is not true at all.
