Ethical Question

Feb 22, 2013 14:58

Imagine you are a radio talk-show host, and there is someone who is accused of murdering police officers running around. You say, on your show, that there is no reason to bring this person in, and there is no need to waste money or time on a trial, and you say, "Police, I can't say what I'm thinking, but you know what to do."

"well screw it, I am going to speak my mind..we all know cops are tools of the establishment. As Donner proved there is rampant racism...so you know the right thing to do, dont waste time and money on a trial, just let him get away"

just a possible alternate scenario..

the question not asked is "is it bad to advocate murder"? I suspect it's not right in this case (but I haven't followed the story much - seems like I'd advocate (further) murder of abusive cops before murder of the suspect), but in general there have to be cases where that's the outcome I prefer.

I'm kind of a fan of open uncensored advocacy, even of stupid or evil positions. There's a line where it crosses into action or assistance, but it's a long way from radio talk shows.
