I think you may have played your badacey hand correctly. Having five cards to start with drives down (improves) the badugi values needed to show down a winner. You also have to consider the number of players dealt in on a particular hand. You might want to raise the first round or two if it will get you position or drive out players.

Damn, our Vegas trips actually overlapped by a couple of days (I left Tuesday morning) but I wasn't downtown.

A smaller mixed game that runs quite a bit is the $9/$18 at the Aria (played with $3 chips). I played twice on my trip--the first time was just 4 games but the 2nd time was 12 games: badugi, badeucy, badacey, 2-7 triple draw, A-5 triple draw, A-5 triple draw 8 or better, pineapple razz, pineapple stud/8, pineapple stud hi-lo regular, 5 card omaha/8, double board omaha, and a quaint weird game called limit texas holdem.
