Not satisfied with leaving me with a sour taste at the start of my long weekend (ie yesterday), the utterly stopid & useless gym has gone and done it again!

Hi Michael

I'm a regular spinner at California Fitness and was eager to participate in the xmas ride that will be held tomorrow at Orchard gym at 1130am.

As with past spinning sessions, i got on the phone at around 330pm today (ie Saturday) to book my bike for tomorrow's session. Alas, the receptionist informed me that the class is fully booked at 330pm. Even the waiting list was full. How could this have been possible? That 40 slots were taken up in the short span of 30 minutes? Later on, I found out that the registration had started earlier (possibly as early as 11am even).

I think you can imagine my annoyance at this stage. No instructor mentioned that registration for the special ride is going to start from 11am instead of the usual 3pm. Neither was the earlier booking time reflected anywhere on this week's Group X schedule. What's the point in repeatedly reminding members that they need to make their reservation for bikes the day before from 3pm onwards if the registration time can be brought forward without any pre-empting? Am I, as a paying member, supposed to ring the gym at all hours of the day to check if the registration time has been brought forward ?

I understand the need to implement the reservation system and have been faithfully doing it despite the inconvenience. The least California Fitness can do is to stick with their policy and not switch it as and when you fancy.

This surely reeks of irresponsibility on the part of California Fitness, regardless of who made the decision to shift forward the registration time. As to whose shoulders the blame should be placed, I'll leave it to you to decide on culpability.

The shifting forward of booking time without pre-empting members shouldnt have occurred in the first place. For members like me who has already penciled in the ride, this has inconvenienced me and disrupted my schedule for Xmas day, not to mention dampening my mood.

Having been with the gym for 3 years, I decided to stay on because I've gotten used to the quality of the Group X classes and the instructors here at California Fitness. However, the quality of service continues to leave me appalled. I'm hoping that you'll take this complaint of mine seriously and I'm certainly expecting a response from California Fitness at your earliest convenience.

Warmest Regards,
