Why hello there, Voile. You have a... fox coming towards you. Wait, wasn't Tails in human form for this?
Well, being that sometimes he was more fond of being in his normal form more often than not and the mun wants to use fox icons for once here, he was making his way to the punch table, twirling his tails in a fashion.
When he saw Voile, he ran over. "Hey, Voile! Glad you could make it!"

He was a sight for sore eyes, especially considering that he was... well. A fox, and not a human like all of her other friends, allies, and cohorts. She gave him a small smile in greeting, leaned over and patted him on the head, giving his fur an affectionate ruffle.
"Well, hello Tails. You look very bright tonight. I hope that's a good sign and not a bad one." She couldn't picture anyone presenting themselves in a good mood and not truly being in one. The only person she thought who did that was her.

"I hope it's a good sign!" said Tails, smiling sheepishly back. "I kind of prefer being in fox form than human form, so I decided to change back for a while."
He looked over at her and said, "So, how are you? Are you having any fun? If you want, I could dance with you."

"I'm a bit relieved. I'm so used to everyone talking about human forms and I haven't taken one yet, so I feel like the shamed nonconformist," Voile laughed, the first time she had the entire night.
Then she swayed back and forth, slipping her leafy hands behind her. "Hm... I'm all right. I was just checking on everyone else. I'm not a mother or anything like that, but sometimes I feel like I am. Or I feel like I want to be, so I go looking after everyone else. I hope it's not too bothersome."
She took on a surprised expression briefly at his offer and chortled, "You want to dance with me?" She couldn't say she was popular, but there was something that made her feel special about that.

"I just think for some, they can't talk without a human form. Like some other Pokémon I've heard about," said Tails, shrugging. "Maybe the others think it's cool to have a human form."
And it was at this point that he realized that dancing with her in his fox form would be impossible, since she had a three-foot advantage over him. That would be quite awkward. "For me... well, I'm only two feet tall in this form, so people can notice me better in human form if I want them to. I don't always like being noticed, though.
"I don't think it's very bothersome," he commented as he continued on speaking. "It's nice of you to do that for people. And sure, I'd love to dance with you! I just gotta change into human form so I won't make you trip over me when we do, haha..."

"Oh..."
That was true. Some couldn't talk without the additional form and Voile hadn't thought about it before. That was exactly the case, however. It would have been silly to think otherwise. She had been lucky and a bit of the odd one out. Fortunate Voile, she supposed.
She paused momentarily when he explained he would need to change to meet her height. She wasn't too surprised because Knuckles had needed to change, too, but he hadn't changed in front of her. He'd actually already been changed when they met up and that'd surprised her greatly. How different would it be for Tails to change right in front of her?
"Is... it okay if I see it?" Since she'd never seen it before, after all.

"See me transform? And my human form? Sure, why not?" He was going to change in front of her anyway, since he had saved his clothing when he changed back to fox form.
It was then that the gem pendant around his neck shimmered, and he transformed into his human form, growing three and a half feet and looking at Voile.

She didn't know if that was a sacred thing to see or what. And she wasn't sure that if and when she took a human form that she wanted anyone else to see her. That would be... strangely awkward, she thought.
Her eyes were drawn onto the jewel below his clavicle and in no great moment of time, he'd turned from a rather small fox into a... rather dashing boy. A boy next to a Gardevoir. She blinked once, and then again before chuckling a little to herself.
"It suits you, I think," she replied. Then she willingly offered him a hand, "Shall we?"

Tails took the hand and led her into a dancing pose.
And he danced, just as he had with Ponyta and Mikapii. Somewhat like he was taught. But he was beginning to learn more by watching others dance. It was amazing how much you could learn from others.

He wasn't completely without hope, Voile noticed. No, perhaps he wasn't the same as Knuckles or Jake or her, but still, all the same, he was putting his best foot forward and she couldn't fault him for that. In fact, she was rather amused by the entire situation. Either way, she was enjoying herself far more than she had been before.
So perhaps coming hadn't been a complete loss after all.

"Whatcha think?" He grinned.
