Voile hadn't yet found the time to actually enroll in the class. For one reason or another, she'd gotten mildly distracted by a good number of other things, mostly talks of Hoenn with Brendan, which really just couldn't happen enough. She'd come to discover just how much she missed Hoenn and how badly she wanted to return.

Alas, schooling was schooling and when she really thought about it, she didn't have anything to return to back in Hoenn anyway. At least not yet. One day that would probably all change -- inevitably, really, when she thought about it, but that day just hadn't come yet.

She'd gone to pay her respects to Giovanni, however, as she'd neglected to keep up with him. She had many things to thank him for and to remind him that she had not forgotten him. Dressed in the familiar ruffles, her expression was as neutral as it often was and she waited just inside the doorway, quiet and ever attentive.

Why yes, she could wait until his class had ended.

Mica spotted Voile and, before her owner could react, she hopped out of his lap and scurried over to Voile, chirping happily.

Giovanni's eyes followed the baby Kangaskhan to the visitor, and he smiled fondly when he saw her. "Ms. Voile! What a pleasant surprise." He walked up to the two, nodding, "I haven't seen you in a bit. How have you been?"

She smiled very kindly, more perhaps at Mica than Giovanni -- at first. Voile was naturally all kinds of radiant smiles. She reached down and pulled Mica into her arms in that everlastingly motherly way and then gave a very polite nod when Giovanni closed in.

"You've my apologies for delaying in coming to see you," she admitted, a bit sheepishly as a tint of pink kissed her cheeks. "I seem to be doing well. You look as though you are, too. Are you enjoying your class thus far?"

"It is alright, these things happen. I have had a lot to deal with, but for the moment, yes, I am well. I am glad to hear you are too. As for the class, it has been very good, though this is only my second one. Would be my third had I not gotten sick last week." He shrugged, "Ah well, these things happen."

He smiled more seeing the way she was with Mica, "She is quite taken with you, it seems. Did you miss Ms. Voile, Mica?" The baby Pokemon nodded, snuggling up to Voile more. Nidoqueen growled in greeting from where she lay curled up in the corner.

Right, because he had been ill and she had known this. Voile gave him a considerate look over, mostly nurturing in nature -- as she was prone to do. Then she curled her arms around Mica thoughtfully and nodded once, "You seem happy. I couldn't really ask for anything more."

Well, she could, but there'd be no sense in it, she assumed.

She looked down to Mica when Giovanni addressed her and in a swift motion, brought her forehead to the kangaskhan's. There was a bonk that ensued and Voile smiled brightly, "I'll make sure to come around more then. How's that sound?"

Then she brought her attention onto Nidoqueen and without even uttering a sound, her expression softened, "And how are you?"

Giovanni nodded, scratching Mica behind an ear as he spoke, "For the most part, I am." And it was the truth; he was fairly happy right now, despite everything. "I seem to be enjoying this teaching position more than I anticipated coming into it." Also true.

Mica cooed in agreement, and seemed to giggle when Voile bonked heads with her. "She seems to like that. I'm sure the others would like to see you more often as well." To say nothing of their owner.

As for Nidoqueen, "Doin' well, Ms. Voile. Been busy taking care of her, she's a handful. Between me and Nido and Kangaskhan and Vanvan, we got it taken care of, though!" she replied, stretching out a bit.

Voile imagined, for just a moment, that a successful teacher who could convey his points to his pupils in a concise and interesting manner would make for a happy one. After all, if she were in his position, she would have said that she was thrilled if they were simply learning something from her. Of course, it didn't take much to make the Gardevoir happy, which could have been as an entirely pitiful stance.

"Then I will have to rearrange my schedule a little bit. I'm afraid that right now, I haven't left myself with much open time. As usual, I'm overloading myself to keep busy. I should learn a bit of that moderation I preach so much," she murmured with a slight giggle. She really did love that Mica so much! It made her heart was to melt into this disgusting puddle that she could slip on and break all of her leafy limbs.

Then she nodded over to Nidoqueen thoughtfully, "I'm really glad to hear it. I hope you're taking good care of Giovanni, too. He needs all of the help he can gets, and likely not the kind of help he could get from ( ... )

Giovanni nodded, "I am starting to understand that myself, especially now that I may take on a secondary job at my Uncle's resturant as a pianist." He sighed, "Between that and making lesson plans...So much for free time. But I know she and the others would enjoy that greatly. I don't think you've met my other Kangaskhan, I know she'll like you too."

That reminded him of something, "By the way, I am sparring with one of the other students, Silver, tomorrow at the stadium. It's open if you'd like to watch. It'll be my first time battling competively in awhile, and Sergio and Emmet are looking forward to it."

Nidoqueen chuckled -or the equivalent anyway-, nodding, "You have no idea how much help Vanvan needs sometimes. The kid's giving him trouble, that's for sure. Like a stubborn, redfurred Nidoran, that one."

A pianist and a teacher. That seemed like an awful lot for someone to take onto their shoulders. How did Giovanni find the time to do things like that? Voile had just barely enough time to socialise when she wasn't going around to classes, studying, and trying to think up good topics for Cyrus's ethics class.

"You have two?" she dumbly asked, effective distracted from the rest of the conversation. Even Nidoqueen had taken a backseat as Voile's worries became forefront in her mind.

Had she really grown so out of touch with people? She'd been trying so hard to avoid that. Since when had it been such a difficulty to do exactly that, though? Voile suddenly wanted to kick herself around the block a few times -- not that she knew what a block was, aside from those delicious Pokéblocks that she was craving something terrible.

"Really?" Her eyebrows lifted to him.

At first, he was a bit confused to which point she was asking about, then figured she was asking about his other Kangaskhan. "Yes, she was staying with my father before a few weeks ago shortly before classes started," he said, tilting his head in agreement, "I brought her back with me when I returned, and between her and Nidoqueen, they seem to have mothering duties covered; even so, she still clings to me. Perhaps because I found her."

"Yes, he challenged me over the network; I haven't battled like this since I resigned as a gym leader, but I still believe I can hold my own. We'll find out for sure tomorrow, though I think Emmet will be more than enough for a few rounds. If not, Sergio and Kangaskhan more than likely will. Nidoqueen seems to want to sit this one out to stay with Mica and watch."

She almost said something about Giovanni's father, but assumed if she did it was probably going to be about his age. Giovanni was fairly old, wasn't he? She'd always thought he was, but maybe he wasn't as old as she'd thought. ...Not... that she'd thought he was ancient or anything silly like that.

"Infants have an imprint mechanism, Professor. Most often -- more often than not -- the first one they see if the one who is defined as the maternal or paternal unit. Even if mothering duties are fulfilled, in the end, it's as you said. You found her. She'll likely be attached to you for life."

At least it was an educated guess. Voile couldn't say much about her own parents as she hadn't seen them in quite a long time, but she assumed she'd felt the same way any child had. She must have known from birth who her parents were and she had a difficult time thinking anyone else might have been different.

It was probably a good thing she hadn't brought up age. He was trying very hard not to think about the fact he was going to be 40 soon...

"Yes, Notte imprinted on me when I found him injured and took care of him, it seems. I suppose it is the same with her; I found her shortly after her mother had been fatally injured, so as I was the only one to care for her, I suppose the same thing happened. I cannot say I mind, though. I don't have a daughter, so she's become one, in a sense."
Actually he did have a daughter, but he was unaware of Rosa's existance. After all, he -or his wife- had not known of the pregnancy when he had left.
Of course, he still cared for the young lady in front of him like a daughter, regardless of her being a Gardevoir. He would need to catch up with her soon.

He scratched Mica on the head, and smiled when she cooed, "So, will you be staying for class, Ms. Voile?"

Voile nodded slowly. She had no children obviously, and had often wondered what it would be like to have any. Cyrus had talked more than enough to her on such things and virtually how useless and worthless it was. She didn't agree with him, of course, but that was often pointless and aggravating conversation.

"Of course. Did you expect me to leave?" she asked with surprise as she finally released Mica.

"No, not really. Some people stop by on their way to other things to chat for a moment or two. I was just...nevermind." Agh, he got himself into trouble so easily with wording and little questions. "I hope you enjoy the class then, Ms. Voile." Mica skittered over to Nidoqueen, though he didn't really notice her.
