September 7th, late afternoon. punchtheflute September 7 2011, 19:09:48 UTC
He'd just come in for a look around, really. He liked to see all the nice plants and especially the different fruits and leafy green salad vegetables that maybe one day he'd get to try. But it was so warm and quiet in here, and everything felt so serene... it was kind of hard not to let his eyelids droop. Just a little at first. Until he found a nicely shaded spot where he could sit down without hurting anyone's plants and maybe just rest his eyes for a minute or two...

....three hours later he awoke gently, giving a small yawn. How long had he been out? The sun was a lot lower in the sky now. It must be late in the afternoon, or early evening. He hoped he hadn't missed any classes.

He probably had.

Well, no sense in getting up and rushing around now. He just sort of rubbed his eyes and sat there, doing his best to wake up.

The gracidea flowers. Voile had not forgotten. About a year ago, or perhaps a little more than that, she had planted some with Cyrus. Those days were easier. Or perhaps she only thought they were. In actuality, she'd been very closed off, a lot colder than she was. Certainly, she'd grown jaded over time, but she felt like she was in a much better place.

She paused when she saw Sonny. Mostly because she'd never seen him before. And then partially because she was sure if he was caught sitting on plants or flowers, Erika was going to give him one heck of a pounding.

"Uhm..." she began as she stared at him. "What exactly are you doing?"

No way. Erika was his Bro. They teamed up to save lives. Like Batman and Robin. Or a sleepy woman and a panda.

"Hnn?" he asked, rubbing the last of the sleep from his eyes and looking up at the green haired girl. "Oh! Hello!" He yawned. "I was just taking a little nap. It's nice and warm in here, you know?"

Voile blinked and she chortled. "I suppose it is. But it's nice and warm in here for the flowers and the plants." She rubbed her chin in contemplation for a few moments. "You mean to say you don't have classes to be in or anything like that? Don't tell me you nap out here every day."

"....I think I might have missed two or three classes." Sonny Moe replied, completely honestly as was his usual manner. "I just came in here for a look around and felt so peaceful it was hard to keep my eyes open."

He gave another yawn and a stretch. "I don't sleep here every day... too much temptation everywhere and I don't wanna get in trouble or ruin anyone's plants, y'know? Usually I sleep on the quad or in the other flower gardens or in my dorm."

She had a hard time not laughing when she heard him. Well, it wasn't her job to scold him anyway. As long as he wasn't in trouble, after all. Her expression softened and she leaned over to get a better look at him.

"Oh... I see. Well, Mister Napper," Voile began confidently. "My name is Voile. I came to water some flowers. Would you like to help me, since you're awake now? Or should I let you go back to sleep?"

"I can help! I help water Vinnies plants sometimes." When the Venusaur was away on his ~~Mysterious trips to the Graden~~ and the like.

He got up on his feet and dusted the dirt and bits of grass from his shorts. "My name is Sonny Moe. I'm Red's Snorlax! It's nice to meet you."

He gave one last yawn.

She offered forward her hand and her smile brightened, though she wasn't quite sure how that was possible. The way he seemed so tired and groggy struck as a bit of an odd kind of charming.

"Red's Snorlax?" She thought about that for a moment. And then she knew who he was talking about and she nodded. "I see, I see!" With her free hand, she pointed towards herself, "I am a Gardevoir. If you don't mind my asking, who's Vinnie?"

"Vinnie is my Brother, Team Mate, Best Friend and Roomie!" Sonny announced proudly, taking her hand and giving it a very gentle, warm shake.

"Oh! I know what Gardevoir are! You're a Pokemon too! A Psychic type I think! Dark moves are no good for you." Beyond that, he didn't know much. But he was a Champion's Pokemon so he had to have picked up SOME pointers about other species.

She laughed. He was a bit silly, this Sonny guy. She patted his hand with her free one lightly before she withdrew both and started for the watering can. "You're exactly right. You're very smart."

Then she looked over her shoulder to him, "Where are you from, Sonny?"

"I'm from Kanto!" he replied, picking up another watering can and peeking in through the top to see if it needed much filling. "I was born and raised in the mountains there. Then I wound up in a place called Celadon city, and that's where Red caught me."

Being told he was smart was SO not a common occurrence for him. He almost sounded a little flustered. If in a low-key, sleepy sort of way.

"And then we spent some time in Johto too. I like Johto a lot."

"It sounds like you've been all over the place. I've never left Hoenn for any other place except here. And even when I went to Hoenn, I only ever visited a friend's family and the city I grew up in."

As she filled the watering can, she looked back over to him curiously, "Where would you say your favourite place is? Since you've just been everywhere, I mean." She hoped he didn't mind the number of questions she was asking. It was just her way of getting to know him.

Besides, he seemed to like talking.

"You should see more of the world!" Sonny announced, walking over to the nearest faucet to fill up his can a little more. He then decided to fill it up completely, tipping the old water out - plants liked fresh water best, probably.

"It's amazing out there! Mountains and oceans and forests and caves... I loved seeing all of it! But my favorite place in the world?"

He grinned hugely. "The Goldenrod City Daycare! It's in Johto! There's a big field where you can sleep and there's always lots of food! And the daycare couple are this nice little old lady and man and they'll sometimes give you food right off the table! They used to let me watch cartoons in the mornings. And other trainers bring their Pokemon to the center and you can spend time with them! It's so great!"

"Yes," she agreed with him. She set her watering can down, so she wouldn't have to carry it as she waited for him to fill his. And once he had, she took it in hand again, and moved to water the flowers and plants he hadn't already. "I should," she reiterated.

Then she blinked as she chuckled. Sonny sure was cute. Cute in that oh-so-innocent way that Voile rarely saw in people. She was quite taken by it, and 'taken' was a bit of an understatement. She was touched that someone could be so endearing.

"A daycare, hm? We have those in Hoenn, too. I've never been to one, but I've heard about them." She rubbed at her cheek gently, "If you don't mind my asking, why were you so often at the daycare?" Perhaps he belonged to the old lady and the man. Perhaps his trainer was frequently busy and couldn't care for him. Perhaps Sonny had no trainer.

Sonny watered the plants carefully, being sure not to bend the leaves or disturb the dirt too much while still giving the roots a good soak. He'd picked up a lot just from living with the Venusaur.

"Oh, because when you have Six Pokemon in your party, you can't carry any more. So, when Red wanted to train a different Pokemon to the ones we normally had on the team, he'd ask if one of us would like to go into the PC for a rest or go to the Daycare for a vacation. I always volunteered if no-one else wanted to because I liked it there so much. So, if Red wanted to train Ellis or Victoria for a while, I'd get a nice little holiday with that couple and any Pokemon that other trainers bought along."

He was soon out of water, and was looking over the plants to see if he'd missed any. "If you ever get to go there, I bet you'd like it. They have a little garden there you could help look after, and a little pond you can lay down and sleep next to."

"Oh... I get it. I should have known that. My trainer only ever had one Pokémon at the time." She wondered if he'd simply replaced her with someone else after they parted ways. He probably had, and she couldn't hate him for it. All she ever wanted was for him to be happy. Even if it wasn't with her. Even if she couldn't be the one to provide that to him.

Then she paused before moving onto the next group of plants and began to water them with a nod. "It does sound nice. Whenever I need a vacation, I'll need to remember make a visit there. It sounds very relaxing and sometimes I could desperately use that."
