[Caim is officially in the area. He's been given a room and an occupation. He doesn't even have to share with anyone. Isn't he a lucky guy? His room is barren. Of course it is. He came with nothing, except his sword, armour, and the clothes he wore. He's not wearing the armour, but he is wearing the same clothes, bloodstained and wonderful. Wearing

A blonde-haired, blue-eyed woman replies on the video feed, sitting in a dark room. If he squints, he can make out glimmers of metal in the background; perhaps more computers or pieces of technology. He shouldn't have to squint very hard to see she's very comfortable where she is, however; clad in nothing more than thin skivvies. There's something very piercing about her gaze...]
Your video feed is working.
You were in a fight. How long ago was it?

He takes some moments to get a better glimpse of her room, which is hard to do considering the camera's in her room and not his. And even if it were the other way around, he wouldn't know how to work it.
Caim takes note of her words. Video feed. That's what this is. Video geed. He files that away for later. He'll have to ask when he actually has someone he genuinely trusts not to stab him in the back.
His head inclines after a moment and he writes before showing it to her.]
"It did not take place here."
[He assumes she may consider him a murderer of the halls. Except no murders have been announced and no bodies have been found.]

Where, and how did you get here?

He looks to his calendar. He's marked the day he came in, though it differs somewhat from the date of his homeland. He doesn't even know how to computer those two things together, however.]
"A few days ago marks my arrival."
[As for how he arrived... That's not so easy to explain.]
"I could not tell you how I arrived here."

You can do better than that. Was it a worm hole? A flash of light? Did you fall out of the sky?
[She's heard it all. There's a slight pause; her interrogative tone eases, but only very slightly so.] ...or was it death that brought you here?

But if he were alive... Then it meant Angelus was, too. And that gave him some form of hope.]
"A portal."
[That's all he really knows. A portal of some kind, somehow.]
"'Good' fortune."

You're not the first, and you won't be the last. I'll advise you to stay out of trouble while you're here.
[Helpful suggestion or warning: take your pick.]

"I wouldn't dream of causing conflict."
[Well, perhaps he would, but like Hell is he going to admit that to anyone.]

"Caim."

Do you have any questions?
[About this place? Surely he must..]

"A name for a name?"
[That sounds like a good start. Of course he wants to know your name, silly girl.]

Now, what else to ask...]
"What is your position here?"

[She leans back a little in her chair.]
I teach Armed Weaponry and BioMechanical Engineering. It's not the sort of life I ever imagined to have.
[Honest, but sufficiently vague.]

"Understood."
[Then he writes more and gestures to himself.]
"I will be an assistant to Goose, fellow faculty of yours."
