So maybe I'll keep track of my progress here. I've been lifting regularly again since last July, so it'll be interesting to see if I have any improvements

Becoming a jock?

What, you want to make up for your nerdiness in high school and become a jock now? It is a little too late to do that, don't you think? Or do you build your musculature to impress some girl? If so, good luck with that. Or maybe you wish to join the armed forces like you brother did?

A combination of the first two. I'm still kinda nerdy... but I don't want to be the stereotypical nerd! Mostly because it doesn't in any way help with the second reason. :)
And a third reason is that it's just plain good for me. It's energizing and refreshing, and helping me trim some body fat off. Not to mention build muscle and improve my metabolism. I feel better after doing it.
But the main reason is girls, yes. Definitely.
How've you been lately? Haven't heard from you in a while.

Just excercise with caution and reason, OK? You can trash your joints really easy in a bodybuilding gym. Mere 2 or 4 years of this folly are enough to do unrepairable damage. An ex-schoolmate from university was going to gym every day during the studies. He even ate specialised food for bodybuilders etc. Today, he is 30 (that's 2 years older than me) and he is unable to stand up and go to work without a hefty dose of painkillers. The cartillages in his joints are simply gone, worn away. Such damage can be usually found only in 60+ years old people

Yeah, I'm trying to take it in moderation. I really want results, but I also really want my joints, heh. I'm not overdoing it, I don't think. I usually lift 3-4 times a week and go for a run 4-5 times a week.
Good to hear the car crash did no damage to you... sorry to hear about the car, though. You must have had SOME luck since you survived the unlucky crash, if you know what I mean. :)
