I mean it seems like the bands that are the most popular are the ones that musicaly simplistic, in fact it's like theres one really crappy master song that all the other bands copy and stick their lyrics into. It's all MTV and evil marketing. Seeing what local music is getting popular gives me some hope though. I think people my age (and yours) are growing up and soon will be tired of what's on the air now. Good Charlotte has one good song and the rest of them are pretty gay.

Have you heard System of a Down's new album? The one song that was on MTV seemed pretty cool... weird... but I dunno. I was hoping the rest of the album had more to it.

So MANY bands are evolving in the hardcore scene. The mainstream shit has always sucked.

Okay I don't know who you are, but hi!
What makes a band hardcore? Is it that they scream every now and again throughout the song? Just like my little sister who cries when she doesn't get her way, it doesn't make her hardcore. I do agree, however, that mainstream music sucks major, but the fact that it's void of muciscal talent and yet "mainstream" is what busts my chops.

Not all mainstream music is that bad. Sometimes you have to think of it as is this a good song for the genre? because not everyone likes the same style music. :)

Oh well that changes everything cus I don't really care for the genre that much... there are a few good bands, but in my opinion, they are only better because they stand out.
