We had a pretty good luau. I got chewed out today for spending too much money, but it was worth it. Today was Amy's real birthday and she is six years old now!
here are a bunch of
this is the cake and cupcakes i made.
i had to make the cake twice because i wasn't sure of the size and the first one was too small and i took it out of the pan too soon. the cake tasted pretty good. the icing tasted ok, but next time i might try a different recipe. it was my first time making a cake and icing. the cake was easy, but i thought i was going to kill my mixer with the icing.
here's pin the fire baton on the polynesian man. i sketched him out and painted him and then laura did the details. she made him look so much better than i had envisioned. also, this whole game was amy's idea. she came up with it after looking at all the luau decorations at the party stores.
all my favorite kids lined up for limbo. jailon won this game, but it kinda wasn't fair.
justice, tyra and summer
all the girls had grass skirts and everyone had a lei or two, but they didn't keep them for too long. by the way, this adorable little girl is jason's daughter.
ian and my great friend matt, who helped out so much
i'm pretty sure this photo pictures every one of my favorite kids.
amy never looks at the camera.
and i do mean never. this is the hawaii backdrop that laura and i painted. peanut liked laying in the sand.
i had those sparkling candles and they reignited. check out their shocked looks. :)
