Still haven't posted regarding gala. It was, however, enjoyable. My mother hadn't expected to teach again.

Perfecting my ability to throw knives and other cutlery. (I used to throw knives as a hobby, you could say. Like how some people play darts. Same thing.)

[Is relieved to hear she didn't ruin the gala for him but doesn't say so]

Your mother has such a presence when she walks into a room. I doubt anyone missed seeing her even if they didn't know it was her.

Great way to get a point across!

Really cuts to the meat of the matter.

Knives are a handy thing to have and know how to throw. I'm not sure about throwing spoons, though I hear that's a particular kind of art.

Simply put, the idea was to be able to use anything that might be nearby Just In Case.

I'm sorry I didn't get to meet your mother.

Throwing knives is probably going to come in very handy around here.

She had wanted to talk with you. She has been to India in the past, as has her mother.

Then I'm doubly sorry I didn't get the chance. She looked so very busy.

She hasn't visited the school in years so the professors all wanted to talk to her.
