Soil & Pimp Sessions are a great jazz band that plays with bebop and punk stylings.
Although they're still a jazz band at heart. This song has Shiina Ringo singing!

Kinoco Hotel are sort of my recent obsession.
Relatively new, sergeant pepper era uniform wearing 60s/group sounds revival girl band.
Also that guitar tone makes me meeeeelt

I really liked this post and don't think your subjects of interest are so scattered that you should worry about presenting them as a whole. I love it when people put together animation clips, music videos and drawings together that speak to them. If you do seek organization between your media posts, just keep a theme or idea in mind and possibly a little explanation about it to make them a cohesive unit.

I'm actually super happy you brought up Yutaka Nakamura in this post. I think I've been able to visually identify the style but never knew who it was connected to. Thank you!

Thanks... and you're welcome!

There actually seems to be some Yutaka Nakamura imitators on other anime unrelated to Bones.
Like uh, this Black Rock Shooter scene http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9t0s46tsxXc

Odd because he's supposed to be contracted to Bones. An easy way to spot him out (and possibly imitators) is that he'll use cubes quite a bit (THEM CUBES) in effects animation.

I'll try and post about more animators here and there. I'm actually relatively new to anime (at least in being serious about it; ranma 1/2 and evangelion was my childhooood hah) so most of the time I'll just be echoing what others have said, but it doesn't hurt to spread knowledge that not many know about anyway!

Also, Hourou Musuko releasing March 2011! Yeeeessssss
I don't know if you're into Suehiro Maruo but he's finally having a book published sometime November and I'm pretty excited about that too. Also Tezuka's Ayako! Gah money!
