Day 1: PreMed Imprisonment

Jul 18, 2005 23:49

Edit: I unlocked the entries. I haven't updated in a month, and quite a bit has happened, let me tell you. I probably won't update about it, at least not right now, but if I do feel like it, I'll let you know. However, I am in desperate need of contact with the outside world right now, so I thought I'd write about my imprisonment ( Read more... )

These two weeks, I realized, were going to be horrible. For the first time in my life, I wanted to be completely anti-social and alienate myself from everyone. I just wanted to be a recluse. Sounds like my first day of orientation @ Mich Tech last week. Except, I didn't cry, probably because of my male emotional system, lol. I just felt kind of 'out of it'. I think that it suddenly struck me that this was college and that I really was going to spend the next four years of my life here, without parents, trying to learn enough to form a career while, at the same time, trying to enjoy myself ( ... )

Hey Tim...

Yeah, things are definitely MUCH better...I've spent 7 days here, and I think everyday is definitely getting better. I'm becoming more social and I'm just starting to accept the fact that this is going to be what I call 'home' for the next 4 years of my life.

At least you got over it within 24 hours...it took me a few days.

Yeah, I'm glad I got the opportunity to meet people here and get acclimated to the dorm atmosphere. :)

Thanks for making me feel better! :)

No no, it's ok. A lot of people forgot about my grad party. It was really fun though, sorry you missed out. :(

Phil is fine...I think you left him a comment in his journal, so if you want details, it's probably best to ask him. What's important right now though is that he's fine and out of the hospital, yay! :)

I hope to see you @ Phil's grad party. =)

Haha yes, it's the second-most haunted college in the nation, the top one also being in Ohio (Ohio-Wesleyan University).

Thanks, the project is going...well, it's just going!

Tim's comment reminds me of my experience at Michigan orientation. Very few guys were sociable, and I wasn't in a position to break that barrier ( ... )
