I, unfortunately, know I never listened to Mom about dying my hair, but as someone with strawberry blonde hair naturally tell her not to do it again. It so ruins your hair. I should never have begun messing with it in the first place. Everyone used to tell me how lucky I was to have such a pretty color hair naturally and I never listened, now I wish I would never have done it.
We're back...and her hair is back to it's normal color. Clariol is not what it once was...a few days in the salt water, sun and constant teenage showering and it all pretty much washed out. yays! for that.
The Myrtle was fun(ish) most of the time. Planet Hollywood is an awesome restaurant. The rest? Kinda crowded and I actually used the words, (no lie) --"Get out of the water! There's a shark!!!" and there was a shark. Something called a Bonnethead which looks like a hammerhead because it's apparently related to the hammerhead but not as aggressive?? It swam betweeen my son and my daughter... But it didn't bite them - yays for that! I guess and we didn't see it again. And we only had to stay out of the water for one day because of the hurricane but we went in up to our knees anyway (and yes, we even went in after seeing the shark- stupid? Yes, we are.)
I just got back from Disney. We ate at Planet Hollywood there. We ate there last year too. I think there food is great and it was very filling for a late lunch early dinner after our flight there.
I am glad the hurricaines stayed away. I was all over Bill hoping it wouldn't interfere with our trip.
Sam's hair is slightly lighter than your's. AND! yays for the sun and surf - it's back to its original color. And it will stay that way till I'm too old to notice if she dyes it or not. She says she likes her hair, too. She's just a teenager. Thus STOOPID.
Yikes! back at your scorpion debacle but yays! for the upcoming closing. The sun and salt water and her constant need to shower washed the dye job right out and now it's back to her natural color. Now she's bugging me to let her cut it.
Once you close, can I send you a permanent houseguest? Only till she's no longer a teenager??
It sucks that you'll be seeing your mom, who won't be able to keep her opinions to herself.
However, hair is something that kids can change and feel like they have control over. When she grows up, she may look back at pictures and wonder *what* she was doing. I prefer hair dying to weird piercings.
And she may have done *just* to get a reaction out of her grandmother. (and you)
My mom? Actually failed to notice the dye job. She did notice that my son needs a hair cut and I've gained weight (just a few pounds per the oncologist's order but still, she noticed!!)
I guess she's better than most teenagers...still drives me up the wall. But she's not bugging for strange piercings. And the sun, surf and constant desire to shower washed the crappy dye job right out! Yays.
