You did indeed beat the crowd here! Thank you very much, dear S - I had a good day, and a lovely evening with a few close friends, followed by another lovely evening with a few close friends last night, because some of them couldn't make Thursday, so I had two birthday celebrations back to back... Neither was especially raucous, but we did drink considerable amounts of champagne...

And yes, I do hope the coming year will be more fun!
