Sitting in the sunshine, on days like today, it’s almost possible to forget everything that it’s taken to get to this point.
You close your eyes as the wind gently ruffles your hair. You look so peaceful. I will always remember you like that.
The light dances in your eyes when you look at me. Even though, buried underneath all of that, your eyes have seen too much. Remembered too much. You always look at me like you’re seeing me for the first time.
And I loved you. Love you.
“Come back to me.”
“Always.”
Eternity is worth it, because of the promise of you. You being there when I wake. Again. Forever.
I hope you will wait for me.
