That first photo reminds me of Colorado. I really miss Colorado but, like everywhere else I guess, it's not the same as it used to be. There used to be wide open fields everywhere and beautiful scenery as far as the eye could see. Now I hear it's mostly condos and there are even whole new towns.
There was this one town that was nothing more than a roadside bar and a few houses. Now it is a city all its own with neighborhoods and everything.
And the cat reminded me of a dog my niece brought over for me to see the other day. It was the cutest little dog and didn't bark at you or bite. It didn't make a sound. I'd get a dog but I had one for 13 years and when he died I promised myself I wouldn't get another one. It's too painful to see them die. After 13 years, a family pet feels like a member of the family.
And I just realized that I write like a 5th grader.
I've never been to Colorado. I'd love to go. This strip of land between my town and where my mom lives is just filled with mustard grass right now. It's on the tail end of the season but it's still florishing, probably because of all the rain we've been getting. I hope they never develop it... Next are the lupins, I can't wait to take pictures of those.
That cat's Roy. He's the one we pretend is ours. I named him. When I lived at my friend monica's parent's house they had a dog. Cinder. She was the family pet for 16 years and passed when I was living with them. It was devastating for the family and even for me; they'd become my family and she was part of it. so, I know what you mean.
That's Roy! He's somebody's cat around here (definitely not a stray) but we don't know who so we've "adopted" him (ie, we feed him and pet him and call him our own). I named him--I don't know his real name but that's his name to us.
