Non-sexual songs with girls names in them.
Today was spent doing more cleaning, and it’s actually starting to show. I also finished two moe seasons of anime and a show with Molly (shaman king, way of the house husband, and pretty smart, respectively). I think that brings the total to 7, but I may have to check: Babysitters’ Club, Locke and Key, Pretty Smart, Shaman King, Way of the House Husband, Promised Neverland. That’s six but I think I’m missing something.
Molly and I tried to have sex tonight for the first time this trimester, but her vagina was apparently quite tender and it hurt just to try. So we stuck to hand stuff. It was still pretty great for me. I think she had fun, but she wasn’t able to orgasm, she’d get close and the. Just sort of lose it.
Any way that was the day pretty much.
Realized that I’ve never actually documented the names we are considering for Tadpole. Initially I didn’t want to give anything away or jinx it somehow, but now I think it’s probably more important to document them for prosperity.
Some of the earliest front runners were:
Amelia (Amie/Mia)- because we like singing the sing, and have both just always liked the name.
Tullulah- neither of us has ever met a Tallulah we didn’t like.
Amelie
Luna
Madelyn
James
Sydney - both James and Sydney are make family names on Molly’s side, but it feels a little weird since they are also her dad’s name.
Most of those were ruled out due to them being too popular and us not wanting her to be swarmed with other kids with the same name.
Names I really liked but Molly isn’t sold on:
Persephone
Helen -Baba/my Ukrainian grandmother’s name
Annabeth - a favorite character from both Percy Jackson and Hart of Dixie. We’ve also looked at just about every combination of Anna and Beth names to see if they work, no.
Maxine/Maximum- could use Moxie as a nickname
Other names/ combinations in the running still:
Cora - Molly really likes this one, but I feel like it should be short for something. It’s also another name for the Greek goddess Persephone.
Elizabeth - Molly’s middle name, and a common middle name in her family. So if we use it it’ll likely be a middle name.
Rosanna (Rosie)- the song she’s most consistently active to when we play it.
Rosealia- we like Rosie, and we really enjoy singing the Better than Ezra sing, despite it being about an abusive relationship (or possibly a superhero if you just skim it)
Rosemary/Rosemarie- I had this dream in like middle school that I’d have a daughter named either Rosemarie or Rosebud.
Adventure - this would be part of the “____ is my middle name” series.
Moxie- again as a middle name
Emmeline - the issue with this one is that we both pronounce it differently, and the fact that I dated an Emma, and had a very important kid named Emma at work when I was first starting in childcare.
Names our families have suggested:
Lola - for Molly’s great grandmother Talulah, who hated being talulah and so changed it
Hazel, Olga/Helga - suggestions from Matt, we actually like Hazel but we’re not sure how much.
Petunia- my mom’s latest suggestion.
Bonus:
Is she had been a boy I would have seriously pushed for Hareson pronounced like Harrison but in acknowledgement of the fact that Molly had me take her last name as a middle name, but that we aren’t passing it down to kids.
