I have a lot of school stuff to prepare for and which I am THRILLED for. I'm doing a two year shiatsu and oriental medicine program at a great holistic school here in Minneapolis. That's a tough situation, with the guy who was a virgin. I'm not really sure how I'd feel in your shoes. On the one hand, it was bad timing and maybe the decision was made hastily, but I also don't see that you did anything morally wrong. You strongly suspected he'd never had sex, asked him bluntly about it, interpreted his response about waiting for someone he loved to mean that you should back off. He made it very clear that he didn't want to stop, or wait, and that he was into the idea of sex. The only problem is his potentially skewed understanding of your relationship since you had sex, not anything that you did or didn't do.

If you want advice, you could always omit identifying details and email it to "Feministe Feedback"> or "Ask Professor Foxy" at Feministing.com. While some commenters on the sites can be obnoxious, a lot of great discussions can happen when given such a complex subject like losing your virginity, especially on feminist websites with men's virginity as the subject matter other than women's ( ... )
