((OOC: Return of the Butz))

Sep 07, 2008 22:19

((Hey guys~ Yet another Larry player here.

My LJ account is neo0sasuke and the originals are chewy_kinzoku and eriolgal. Nice to meet ya and here's hoping we have a good time. :)  ))

[NAME:] Laurice Deauxnim (real name: Larry Butz)

[AGE:]
Seven years prior to Apollo Justice, Nick is 33 in AJ... that makes Larry 26?

[GENDER:]
Male

[STATUS:]
Single, and he's not proud of the fact.

[SEXUALITY:]
Modelsexual, though he's been known to flirt with other girls not in the fashion industry: often times they don't bite the bait.

[FRIENDS:]

Phoenix Wright: Larry is the one (if memory serves correctly) who dubbed Nick... well, "Nick". They've been friends ever since a fourth grade class trial in which he stood up for Nick when Nick was accused of stealing a classmate's lunch money (when in actuality Larry was the one who took the money, and what good resided in him (may have) felt sympathy for the poor kid and even slight guilt...). Nick is one of two people who still use the saying from their schooldays: "When something smells... it's usually the Butz."
Presently, Larry considers Nick to be a buddy of his--although Larry isn't a good enough friend to ever pay Nick back for defending him when he was accused of murder. Nor a good enough friend to take the blame for stealing the lunch money until about a decade later. Nor a good enough friend to remember any of the aforementioned. (Nor a good enough friend to refrain from being jealous of Nick for "always being surrounded by beautiful women".) ...Okay, Larry's not a very good friend to Nick even if he does stick by the guy. But duuude, he'd be totally willing to make sacrifices for Nick if he really needed to...! So long as there are no models or hot babes within the vicinity.

Miles Edgeworth: The fourth grade class trial victim, Larry calls him Edgey and is likely the only one who does so (besides Wendy, but Larry coined the name first so hah). Larry joined Edgeworth in standing up for Nick, and the three were best friends for the rest of the school year. When Edgeworth was about to be declared guilty, Larry objected at the last minute and threw off von Karma's perfect plan. Larry almost seems to like Miles more than he likes Nick, but maybe because Miles is more prone to ignore him and thusly Larry has to work harder to gain his buddy's attention.

Wendy Oldbag: Larry's bossy superior from back when Larry worked at KB Security. He respects her more than he respects his lawyer, at least. One has to wonder what would happen should Wendy find out about Larry's "friendship" with Edgeworth...

Pearl Fey: They moped with one another during the Bridge to Turnabout case, both feeling miserable for being failures. Pearl failed at channeling a spirit while Larry failed at life making Pearl feel better. In fact, he made things worse with his usual exaggerative manner.

Maya Fey: As she always followed Phoenix around, Larry flirts with her on every opportunity. He considers both her and her sister to be gorgeous babes, but he doesn't really know all that much about her... Like Pearl, Larry presumes that Maya and Nick are a couple.

Franziska von Karma(??): Franzy, Larry's star! Well, at least Larry wants her to be. Her whipping inspires him to draw pictures of her, and he hopes to make a grandly successful picture book called Franzy’s Whip Lash Splash. She's not very agreeable about it though. In fact, she whips him even more but apparently Larry is a masochist.

Mia Fey: Larry still doesn't seem to know that she is a deceased woman, and compliments her to Nick when she is brought up. Though she only advised Nick in Cindy Stone's murder trial, Larry gives all credit of the victory to her (and even gave her a little present that he made himself).

Elise Deauxnim: His mentor, now deceased. Larry greatly admired Elise and loved her like he would love an endearing aunt. She helped inspire him to change his life and start his career as an artist.

Iris: Larry cares shallowly for this girl, envying Nick for his bond with her.

Desirée DeLight: Another one of shallow Larry's beloveds, though this one is married.

[ENEMIES:]
Frank Sahwit: Framed him for murder! And killed his poor, beloved Cindy while he was at it.

Manfred von Karma: von Karma had probably erased the sudden testifying from his memory and wouldn't recognize the insignificant Larry. Larry's probably forgotten about von Karma by now as well, but if his memory was jogged juuuust a bit, he juuuust might dislike the prosecutor for being mean to Edgey. Might. He's a scary man, Larry might change his mind.

Ron DeLight(?): Ron won't be very happy if he found out that Larry has a thing for his wife. Larry won't be very happy if met the hot babe's husband. Or maybe he'll just continue flirting with Dessie right in front of Ron.

[OCCUPATION:]
Currently he's an artist, though he once ran a hotdog stand (ruined thanks to a stray Missile that cannibalistically attacked his dogs) and also once worked at KB Security as a security guard (in which his blunder luckily saves Ron from being framed for Kane Bullard's murder from the getgo). It's a surprise that Nick is the hobo, as Larry doesn't charge money from the young ladies he draws portraits for.

[HOBBIES:]
Flirting with beautiful women, painting, sketching, pursuing models, crying when they move to another country, nagging Nick, nagging Edgeworth, flirting with beautiful women, and pursuing models.

[LIKES:]
Models, girls

[DISLIKES:]
Dogs, though he used to like them.

[STRENGTHS:]
Larry is fiercely loyal to his friends, though not very dependable.

[WEAKNESSES:]
He respects and loves women to the point that he's blind to how much they may use him and blind to their lack of love towards him. He's also far too lazy and flighty for his own good.

[APPEARANCE:]
Lopsided grin, light brown spiky hair, complete with a dashing goatee. He appears to have black eyes, and he is often seen in his orange jacket and a strangely patterned blue-and-white T-shirt. However, he also wore various outfits for his jobs, the most recent one being his "Laurice outfit": A pink sweater with adorable little ribbons on the shoulders, complete with fingerprint-shaped splotches of paint and a samurai monkey head. This is topped with an orange beret that has a color remarkably similar t--what did he do to his trademark jacket...?

[PERSONALITY:]
Larry is inconsiderate unless you happen to be female and (not "or") beautiful. He's also irresponsible and forgetful, caring most about his girlfriends, then himself, then every other babe on the planet, then his friends, then the male population. That's sexist of him, actually. He's also blind to many things, and can vehemently refuse to accept what is plainly obvious to everyone else. He also exaggerates to the point that it's unclear whether or not he's aware that things aren't as bad as he makes them out to be.

[BACKGROUND:]
Larry hasn't held a single long-term job. He borrows money from Nick and Edgeworth when desperate to spend it on a new girlfriend. He's a bit of a bum, actually.
After Edgeworth left, he and Nick remained friends till adulthood, in which Nick defended Larry in a trial of murder. But more importantly, Larry's girlfriend died and he loved her so much, man. Although, then again, he got to meet Mia Fey after the trial and got to give her a present.
A while after that, Hairry Butz met Nick again while donning a Santa Claus outfit and selling samurai dogs for yet another model girlfriend (who had fled to another country just like the last one and the one before that...) Larry was fired once a cannibal ate all his samurai dogs, but somehow got involved with another murder trial in the process.
Larry "defends" Edgeworth (alongside Nick) with his testimony similarly to how he once defended Nick (alongside Edgeworth) in the class trial.
In the following year, he got a job at KB Security and got punched in the face by a girlfriend's boyfriend that wasn't himself. Not cool, man. And then he lost his job at KB Security as well after his boss, Kane Bullard, was killed. During that case, he loudly declared that he would become a changed man (and though he did try, the change seemed too difficult.)
Larry pops up again like the bad smell that he is yet another year later, having been accepted as Elise Deauxnim's apprentice. However, he is now Laurice and demands to be addressed thusly. He is miserable once Elise is killed, and then poor Iris gets accused of murder (oh, and Nick almost dies). However, he presented a crucial piece of evidence that he drew while he was high waiting for Iris to visit him in his little shack, as she was invited to as specified in his "love" note.
Currently he lives alone and is likely very lonely what with Heather being in Thailand... Oh and, I'll also be keeping up the tradition of making this a sketch blog of sorts.
