ERUDITES!

YAY! Today is the day of the return of my fantabulous Erudite Book Club Meetings. We have all been so busy the last few weeks that we have not been able to meet. We are doing Murder Mysteries from Neil Gaiman's short anthology Smoke & Mirrors.

This is a wonderful way to conduct Book Club imo -- we just do shorts so it fits well in the time we have ( Read more... )

Too late dude. I'm Dushkuing it up. When they have to hospitalize me, imma tell them if i'da never seen her it would have never happened.

I love bookclub this way too...i doubt I'll ever skype it. Mostly because I'm up late and everyone in my tiny house is sleeping. Plus, i'm deathly afraid of the phone or phone like devices that don't require text.

See you in a few!

Um, may I remind you of a couple of things.

1. Most important perhaps -- you just got back from McDonalds.

2. You talk to me on the phone.

I too am becoming obsessed with Dollhouse. I am almost hesitant to get into good television shows these days, because so many get canceled far too soon. Veronica Mars, Pushing Daisies, Arrested Development, Firefly... I could wax on for days.

I know exactly what you mean. When they boofoo'd up Firefly -- I about died ded. Pushing Daisies was THE loss of the year imo. Now there are only 4 eps of BSG left and I cry daily.

Watch them eat up Dollhouse & Chuck next.

Heinous Fuckery I tell you.

Firefly was... painful. Pushing Daisies was so unnecessary, although I knew it was coming long before it was announced so I could somewhat prepare myself for it. Good television is so rare these days.

Seriously - there are about 50 cop shows on television. Each year those shows, that all revolve around the same basic plot, find their place in the lineups. Yet anytime a show comes along that is a little bit different, a little unique, it gets cut.

Veronica Mars was probably the hardest cancellation for me. It got cut in favor of (I kid you not) two reality shows: The Search for the Next Pussycat Doll and Farmer Wants a Wife. Fucking CW.

I could have commited a heinous act on CW. I SAW THE REPLACEMENT SHITE they passed off as a substitute for VM. I mean really. Sometime you have to wonder if it's monkeys running Television amongst other things. I mean I can accept fuckery in government, shopping malls and even the movie theatre -- but mess not with my TV.
