It is a requirement of this school that we witness 10 births and assist at 3 before we begin to take deliveries. And even then the first 10 or so deliveries we take are hand-over-hand with one of the tutors. Because of the incredible volume of women at GMH I had completed this requirement by noon on my second day in the labour room. However because ( Read more... )

So, you feel empowered by forcing your religion on other cultures? Typical. If the whole world believed in your version of God, there would be no diversity. Get a real life.

actually I don't force my religion or culture on anyone here. Where did you get that in this story and why are you so afraid of discussion that you posted your comment anonymously? As you'll notice in the story I prayed for the babies but I didn't tell the mother in the midst of labour "you must convert". I would never say anything like that - I am hear to learn about the miracle of birth - learn how to assist women in the process. Teach them the skills they need to have safe, healthy births, and give woman and children value by spending time with them and educating them on good healthcare practice. I'm offended by your blatent attack on me when you don't know me what I do or what I stand for. I hope you open yourself up to more love and less judgement.

What's with not using your name? Or signing in with a username? You obviously either use LiveJournal, or you know this person ... so, why not use some form of identification?

Because those are some pretty big words. Coming from, you know, a coward. Why should we consider, or respect, your opinion, if you aren't even willing to stand by it by committing your name to it? If you aren't willing to be called on for it?

I don't know about you, but the person who wrote this entry has lived for extended periods of time in several different foreign countries. Being exposed to new cultures, traveling the world, ... that would be having a life, in my humble opinion. How many foreign countries have you lived in? How many languages do you speak? Do you actually know anything about the world, or its religions? Do you have any right to speak about diversity, if you've never actually experienced it yourself?

Next time, sign in or sign a name. Have the decency to stand by what you allegedly believe in.
