So I got really heavy into the research tonight about this Disney Program. Its is an opportunity for college students to get credit abroad, at Disney, taking classes and doing an internship. The program goes from January to August, so I would be gone for a very long time, very far away. I won't know anything more about the program until the meeting on October 7th, but my paperwork is done and I am ready to hear more about it. If any of you wanna know what I know you can visit the site, wdwcollegeprogram.com! It would be so cool to go and get hands on experience in a fun environment.
REASONS TO GO:
I get to live in Florida for eight months **during the huge bulk of our winter :-p** where the low temperature is 49 degrees.
I get paid $6/hour to work at Disney, in a job of my choice. Guaranteed 30 hours a week during non busy season ** $180 a week at least, $6,000 in all**, during busy season there are up to 45.
I can go to the parks for free.
I live in Disney.
I have an apartment with onw or two roomates *all have separate bedrooms*
~~> Fully furnished apartment
~~> Kitchen utensils and appliances
~~> Local phone service and one central phone
~~> Maintenance of the apartments
~~> All utilities including water, electricity, waste disposal
~~> Computer lab access
~~> 24 hour security (what's better than that)
~~> Cable television
~~> Swimming pool and hot tubs
~~> Weight room
~~> Tennis Courts, Basketball Courts, and Racquet Ball courts are available.
I get college credit.
I get to smile all the time.
I meet tons of new people.
I am on the freaking beach, hello spring break!
I'll always have something to do.
REASONS NOT TO GO:
I will be very, very far away from Clifton Park. *tear*
I won't be able to see my family or friends like ever, unless they come to me. **It would be a hell of a vacation**
I will miss my both of my brothers birthdays, and my mothers.
I have to leave Pac Sun.
I may miss New Years, depending on when I need to be there.
I think my brother will take over my room until I get back.
Its expensive, but pays for itself in the long run, literally and not.
I would not be able to be in the London class THIS year because of money and timing.
It seems obvious what I want to do, but I am unsure if I am capable of being away for that long, I would definately have to make friends to survive. And they money thing may also prevent it from happening. The expenses are for the airfare out there and housing, which is divided equally between the people in your apartment. So if you have any thoughts, concerns, or questions feel free to tell/ask me.
Later ya'll!
Love,
April
