It was a dark and rainy night when we first met. I was about to run over him with my car, fortunately, I pushed the breaks at time.

this is so good for your first one-shot story although it sad.
the word,the story line really can make me imagine what happen.maybe that is because you said it from real life story.

i like the last sentence "But the thing that I want you to see the most is that I survived without you ..",it show the power of women.
