This place is more curious than I had initially expected. If this truly is a contrived kidnapping, it is a particularly clever one. I still very much doubt that all this activity is spiritual in nature, but I am willing to believe there is much more here than first meets the eye.
The same could be said of several of my new 'associates'. Ms. Charles is unflappably charming so far, but I am hoping to find a crack soon. She is obviously of good breeding. Mr. Allelujah is hardly mentionable, but his foreignness could be hindrance or a blessing. His poor grasp on English will likely fall into the latter category.
Young Shirogane is particularly intriguing, though I cannot quite put my finger on why. His eagerness for attention, respect and all things English will make him quite easy to direct, should the need arise.
I really must talk to this Lord Bradley. Nothing ill could possibly come of introducing oneself to the landed gentry, after all.

I understand some expeditions have been made into these new rooms. Has anyone noticed anything distinct or amiss, besides their apparent age? Was anyone around when they opened?
