it delights me that "deo" is the word you picked from the stained glass to include in this episode - i'm sure you know it means god, but more specifically, it's a prepositional form: to god, for god, by god, in god, with god... which is really what you say when you exclaim "god!" in surprise or admiration, and far more appropriate to a church, especially as evocative a church as this, than boring old "deus."
